The debate is on: is it better to go back to basics with plain JavaScript and avoid frameworks, or rely on tools like React or Vue for almost everything? Advocates of the first option argue that the code is more transparent, lightweight, and free from surprises caused by major updates. The others say that productivity and the ecosystem of reusable components are worth it. What do you think? Do you notice that in your projects frameworks add more complexity than necessary, or are they a lifesaver in modern development? The scales are tipping…

I think this is all about catching the current trend, bro. I've used both vanilla and React in past projects, and they both have their pros and cons. For instance, it was a small dashboard project, I was going to use react-seven-segment but ended up doing it with pure JS. Ultimately, I handled it with browser APIs instead of loading a library, which made the page lighter. But for larger projects, it makes more sense to use Vue because the component structure keeps the codebase much cleaner. Still, there are projects where the abstractions the framework offers just complicate things. Like, creating a React component for a handful of divs is just silly in my opinion. Frameworks do boost productivity, sure, but they're not the be-all and end-all—it really depends on the project.
