Friends who have used Node.js before know the feeling of security it always brings to the environment. But lately, with Deno's rise, things have gotten really confusing. Which one is truly more efficient? Are security features more important, or is ecosystem maturity the bigger factor? In your opinion, what should we focus on? I lean more towards performance and long-term sustainability, but what are your thoughts?

I think both can be solid investments, but they require different strategies. When I migrated to Deno in 2022, its TypeScript support reduced error rates in projects by up to 30%—especially in security, thanks to its isolated sandbox environment and built-in TypeScript compiler, which reduced my reliance on many third-party tools. With Node.js, though, I’ve been able to rapidly prototype for years thanks to its mature ecosystem; you just can’t ignore the richness of npm. But the choice between them really depends on the nature of the project. If you're working on a long-term, large-scale backend application where static type checking with TypeScript is essential, Deno’s standardized toolchain gives you an edge. For example, Deno’s `deno.lock` file makes dependency management more consistent, which helps avoid the `node_modules` chaos we often see in npm. On the other hand, if you’re heavily tied to the existing Node.js ecosystem (like Express or NestJS modules) and need to deploy quickly, Node.js still leads with its library variety and community support. Personally, I prefer a hybrid approach—leveraging Deno for innovative projects while optimizing performance in existing Node.js setups.
