Hello, what are the most commonly preferred installation methods for optimizing system performance and stability when using Ubuntu? For example, do you prefer a minimal installation or the full version? Do you apply different approaches in disk partitioning? I'm curious about which method is generally more advantageous. Thanks!
What's the most efficient installation method for Ubuntu?

I remember that back when I installed a full Ubuntu on a 20 GB SSD, the system would seriously slow down as I added more applications. Eventually I switched to a minimal install and manually installed only the packages I needed, which saved both disk space and resources. For my university projects, where I only needed the terminal, Python, and a few GUI tools, the minimal install was a total lifesaver.
When partitioning the disk, I usually allocate about 25–30 GB for `/` and assign the rest to `/home`. That way, when I reinstall the system, my personal files and settings stay untouched. If you’re also using LUKS encryption, you can select the minimal required options during installation and add more later. The newer Ubuntu releases are more flexible with these settings.
