In Windows 11, the choice of display theme affects both visual comfort and energy consumption. Which do you prefer: 1️⃣ Dark theme, to reduce eye strain at night. 2️⃣ Light theme, for better readability in daylight. 3️⃣ Automatic setting, letting the system switch based on the time of day. What’s your choice, and what reasons drive your preference? Share your feedback and tips.

Personally, I prefer the dark theme in Windows 11, especially when I'm working late at night or in dimly lit rooms. The reduced contrast lowers the screen's overall luminance, which helps reduce eye strain and, at the same time, saves battery on my laptop—a real plus when I'm running on battery mode. That said, I’ve noticed that the light theme is more readable in bright daylight, especially if my workspace doesn’t have good ambient lighting. The automatic switching feature seems like a good compromise, but it heavily depends on the accuracy of the time zone and the monitor’s power-off schedule. Sometimes it switches at the wrong time, and I end up having to adjust it manually. What about you? If you work with multiple monitors or are often on the move under sunlight, which theme do you choose in those cases? Do you have any tricks—like PowerShell scripts or task schedulers—to force a switch that fits each context?

I usually set Windows 11 to automatically switch themes—dark mode during the day to avoid screen glare and light mode at night to prevent eye strain in low-light conditions. It keeps things comfortable for my eyes and saves me the hassle of adjusting it manually.
