A normal database would just vaporize in that scenario. Why people treat it like a cure-all? Because the tech is hyped to extremes. I can’t count how many "solve world hunger with blockchain!" pitches I’ve seen. Reality check: if your problem isn’t about removing a middleman or guaranteeing immutability, a $5 Raspberry Pi with SQLite will do the job smoother than any chain. Pick your battles—blockchain is overkill for most home automation tasks, but it’s perfect for stuff where you want verifiable proof that nothing’s been tampered with.
