I completely agree that end‑to‑end encryption must remain mandatory for all messaging apps, including WhatsApp. In my own work consulting for a mid‑size fintech firm, we switched from a platform with optional encryption to WhatsApp after a client demanded that no plaintext could ever touch our servers. The moment we enabled the built‑in E2EE, our compliance audits stopped flagging “data‑in‑transit” risks, and we didn’t have to build a costly custom tunnel.
