Just got the Honor Magic5 Pro last month and it’s been a mixed bag for photography, honestly. In daylight, the colors are punchy but not oversaturated—kind of in between what I’d expect from a Pixel and an iPhone. The HDR handling is solid though; it doesn’t blow out skies as aggressively as some older Honor models used to.
Low-light is where it steps up a lot—night mode does a better job than my old Mate 40 Pro, especially for details and noise. But it’s still not as clean as a flagship like the Pixel 7 Pro at higher ISOs. If your budget fits mid-range devices, it’s a decent upgrade from older Honors, but don’t expect miracles in dim lighting yet. The autofocus is fast, which helps with candid shots, but I’ve had a few autofocus misses in tricky scenes.
