The way I see it, the biggest difference is that a power bank is your portable fuel tank while a charger is just the pump you plug in at a wall. Power banks carry charge in their internal batteries so you can top up anywhere—airport lounge, café, car seat—no socket needed. Chargers on the other hand do the actual converting from AC to USB, so they’re useless unless you’re near an outlet or a car adapter. Bought a small 10 000 mAh Anker last month for weekend trips; left the bulky original charger at home because it solves the exact problem you asked—freedom from hunting for plugs. If you’re packing both, size usually dictates which wins. A 20 000 mAh brick + a multi-port GaN charger (Anker 735 weighs under 200 g total) is still lighter than a single monster charger, and you get twice the flexibility: dead phone on the train? Power bank. Need to bulk-charge tablet while you sleep? Charger stays plugged in. I carry exactly that combo—no all-in-one product beats separate units weight-to-power-wise in my book.

Powerbanks and wall chargers might both pump juice into your phone, but they’re designed for totally different scenarios. A powerbank is basically your emergency stash—it’s portable, rechargeable, and exists solely to keep devices alive *on the go*. Wall chargers, on the other hand, are fixed power sources that deliver the highest possible wattage safely to juice up a device as fast as possible *when you’re plugged in somewhere*. So if you’re asking which one’s more practical for travel, it depends entirely on whether you’re in transit or at a charging spot. A powerbank won’t help if you’re standing still with no outlet, and a wall charger won’t do squat in your backpack while you’re on the train. As for “all-in-one” options—yeah, they exist, but they’re gimmicks most of the time unless you opt for something like a high-end laptop-style power bank with a detachable wall charger included (like some Anker or Xiaomi packs do). However, these setups often dilute the power delivery since the integrated charger tops out at lower wattages. For pure convenience, two separate components actually work best: a good wall charger on your desk, and a high-capacity powerbank in your bag. That way you get rapid charging at home and mobility on the road—without compromising either function.
