I’ve noticed that loosening the high‑E a little (or using a lighter gauge) makes bends much smoother and adds a brighter edge, while tightening the low strings or going to a heavier gauge gives deeper sustain but feels stiffer under the fingers. Try a small gauge change on one string at a time and listen how the tone and playability shift.
