Is the Battle Pass model driving skill progression or just fueling cosmetic churn in Fortnite?

There's been a growing conversation about whether the Battle Pass structure in Fortnite actually promotes skill development or primarily incentivizes players to chase cosmetics. On one hand, the tiered challenges seem to push players to experiment with new weapons and tactics. On the other hand, many argue that the reward system leans heavily toward skins and emotes, turning progression into a grind for vanity items rather than meaningful gameplay improvement. How do you think the current design impacts long‑term player growth? Should future seasons shift focus toward more skill‑based rewards, or is the existing balance fine as it stands? Looking forward to hearing different perspectives.

Oh man, I’m still stuck on how to even complete the first 20 tiers of the BP without rage-quitting by tier 5—chasing skins instead of actually improving my shotgun aim! 😅 Maybe if they gave xp for headshots instead of just playing matches, I’d actually level up skills instead of my bank account for imaginary outfits. Seasons are fun and all, but my mechanical skill is still at TI-Nspire level.
