Got promoted to gold after struggling in plat for months. Realized that the pressure changes a lot. Some people say you need to play more carry champs in lower ranks, but others claim it's the opposite in higher tiers. How do you usually approach this? Do you change your champ pool or just focus on fundamentals?

Oh man, I still screw up simple lane swaps in bronze thinking it's rocket science XD Now I'm in gold where people fake FF20 because they tilted from that one ward they missed. In lower ranks it's like "omg yolo rush tryndamere" but in gold they'll flamer you for not playing 20 games of seraphine first lol

Damn, that’s a classic transition pain point. I hit Gold last season after throwing way too many games in Plat as an autofill mid laner who’d one-trick Zed. The moment I locked myself into Plat ranked, everything felt like a lose-lose: either I autofill into a jungle or support, or I get flamed for picking “too carry” picks. It wasn’t until I actually stopped treating promo series like solo carries and started playing more team-centric champs (like Karthus or Orianna) that I realized lower elo thrives on individual macro plays—even if you feed, you can still snowball from one outplay. Up in Gold it’s the opposite: teams actually group properly, objectives matter more than 1v9 potential, and a single misplay can throw an entire game. I didn’t change my champ pool so much as I slotted in flexible picks that fit both carry *and* supportive roles. For example, picked Ahri in low elo games for that burst-pick style, but swapped to Seraphine in Gold when my team needed peel or wave management. Fundamentals are king either way—wave control, objective prioritization, and not inting into 3-man ultimates—but the *gameplan* shifts hard. In Gold, you’re often the one dictating tempo, whereas in Platinum you’re still just trying to capitalize on enemy mistakes rather than creating them yourself.
