Hey folks, did anyone catch the latest Raiders chatter? After a shaky start from Fernando Mendoza, Klint Kubiak announced Kirk Cousins will be the starter for the season opener against Miami. The GMFB crew even hinted we probably won’t see Mendoza get a second contract if this keeps up.
From where I’m sitting, it feels like a classic ‘quick fix’ move – bring in a veteran to steady the ship, but at what cost to the younger guy’s development? Mendoza showed some flashes, but the early struggles were hard to ignore.
What do you all think? Is it smart to lean on Cousins right out the gate, or should the Raiders have stuck with Mendoza and given him more time? How will this affect the locker room dynamics and the team's long‑term plans?
Looking forward to hearing your takes!
