When I was scouting talent for my local amateur side, we once snapped up a speedy winger from a regional French club who barely had any top‑flight minutes. The first few weeks were a reality check – his pace was undeniable, but the physicality and tempo of our league were a whole different beast. He gradually learned to time his runs and hold up the ball under pressure, and by the time the season hit its second half he was a regular starter and even contributed a few assists.
N’Guessan looks a lot like that youngster: raw speed, good dribbling, but limited experience against elite defenders. If Liverpool can give him the right mentorship – think how they nurtured Salah and later Sadio – the transition could be smoother than many expect. The Reds do need a fresh, dynamic option on the flanks to stretch tight defenses, especially with the current squad’s emphasis on high‑pressing. So, I’d say the gamble makes sense, provided they’re patient enough to let him adapt rather than expecting him to start every Saturday right away.
