When I started a small dashboard project last year, I went with CSR because the UI was simple and I could deploy it on Netlify in minutes; once the app grew and SEO started to matter for a public-facing page, I added Next.js SSR just for that route. In practice I choose based on how critical first‑paint speed and SEO are for the target audience, and how much extra build‑pipeline complexity I’m willing to manage.
